During my early adolescence, I made a list with my girlfriends about what our dream lives would look like as adults.
We would be beautiful
…have lots of babies
…be the boss of at least 1 person
…have a great car
and have a husband who was:
…handsome
…charming
…tan
…and does his own laundry.
It would be perfect.
Of course looking back on that list, I don’t want the same things as I did when I was 13…well not all of them anyway.
I needed a heart change to realize that those things were only a small reward in a complacent life. I wanted more lasting blessings and happiness.
And I needed a list to get there.
Reading the Beatitudes is a good place to start. They’re pretty helpful!
